How to read a chart
A chart is the story of buyers vs sellers over time. The most useful chart type is the candlestick. Each candle shows four prices for a period (1 minute, 1 day, 1 week…):
OpenFirst price of the period
HighHighest price reached
LowLowest price reached
CloseLast price of the period
Step 1: Find the trend
"The trend is your friend." Beginners do best buying in uptrends, not trying to catch a falling stock.
Step 2: Mark support and resistance
When price breaks above resistance with strong volume, old resistance often becomes new support.
Step 3: Check volume
Volume is how many shares changed hands. A price move on high volume is more believable than one on low volume.
Step 4: Use one or two simple indicators
- 200-day moving average (DMA): price above it = long-term uptrend; below = caution.
- 50-day moving average: medium-term trend.
- RSI (0–100): above 70 = may be overheated, below 30 = may be oversold. Not a buy/sell signal on its own.
So, what "call" should you take?
No chart can tell the future. A good decision is a plan, not a guess:
- Trend is up and price is near support → a possible entry area.
- Decide the stop-loss just below support. That is your "I was wrong" point.
- Decide the target near the next resistance. Target should be at least 2× the risk.
- Size the trade so that hitting the stop-loss costs only 1–2% of capital (see Calculators).
- If any of this is unclear — no trade. Sitting out is also a position.
Hinglish me padho
Chart samay ke saath buyers vs sellers ki kahaani hai. Sabse kaam ka chart candlestick hai. Har candle ek time period (1 minute, 1 din, 1 hafta…) ke chaar price dikhati hai:
OpenPeriod ka pehla price
HighSabse upar ka price
LowSabse neeche ka price
ClosePeriod ka aakhri price
Step 1: Trend pehchano
"Trend is your friend." Beginners ke liye uptrend me kharidna behtar hai, girte stock ko pakadna nahi.
Step 2: Support aur resistance mark karo
Jab price strong volume ke saath resistance tod ke upar jaata hai, toh purana resistance aksar naya support ban jaata hai.
Step 3: Volume dekho
Volume matlab kitne shares ka len-den hua. High volume wala move, low volume wale move se zyada bharosemand hai.
Step 4: Ek-do simple indicators
- 200-day moving average (DMA): price upar = long-term uptrend; neeche = savdhaan.
- 50-day moving average: medium-term trend.
- RSI (0–100): 70 se upar = shayad zyada garam, 30 se neeche = shayad oversold. Akele buy/sell signal nahi hai.
Toh "call" kya lein?
Koi chart future nahi bata sakta. Achha decision ek plan hai, guess nahi:
- Trend upar hai aur price support ke paas hai → possible entry area.
- Stop-loss support ke thoda neeche rakho. Yeh aapka "main galat tha" point hai.
- Target agle resistance ke paas. Target risk ka kam se kam 2 guna ho.
- Trade size aisa rakho ki stop-loss hit hone par sirf 1–2% capital jaaye (Calculators dekho).
- Kuch bhi clear nahi — toh trade nahi. Baahar baithna bhi ek decision hai.
